SALARDU CIVIC CENTER

PUBLIC FACILITY

This project is located on the northern edge of Salardú, at a strategic point where the residential urbanism meets the natural landscape of the Unhòla river valley. It proposes the creation of a public platform designed as a viewing square, strengthening the connection between the village and its surrounding environment while highlighting its natural and cultural value.

The intervention is organized through two main levels built into the slope, using stone-clad volumes that integrate with the terrain and minimize visual impact. These volumes reinterpret traditional Aranese architecture with simple forms and pitched roofs, maintaining a visual dialogue with the historic village and nearby landmarks. The layout ensures open views toward the river and preserves sun-oriented open spaces, enhancing the relationship between built and unbuilt areas. Public facilities—such as a civic center, library, sports area, and outdoor terraces—are arranged as extensions of the public space, acting as viewpoints and social connectors.

Overall, the project blends architecture and landscape, creating a cohesive environment that promotes social interaction, accessibility, and integration with nature.
